Internet service will be closed in Jharkhand from 8 am to 1.30 pm on September 21 and 22. Under this, internet, data and Wi-Fi services of all mobile service providers will be banned. In this regard, the order was issued by Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary, Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department on Friday evening. The Hemant government has taken this decision with the aim of conducting the JSSC Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL 2023) in a fair and transparent manner.

Regarding the exams to be held on 21 and 22 September, the government fears that anti-social elements or organized groups may plot to destabilize the examination process by spreading rumors on social media. Keeping this in mind, the internet service is being shut down.

The order issued said that the CGL exam-2023 for various vacant posts in the state government departments through Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) is being conducted on Saturday and Sunday at various examination centers in 24 districts of the state. A total of 823 examination centers have been set up for the examination. It is estimated that about six lakh 40 thousand candidates will appear in it.

The order also mentioned that in past instances it has been observed that some fraudulent individuals resorted to unfair means by using various mobile applications such as Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Telegram and YouTube which are dependent on internet/Wi-Fi connectivity. The Jharkhand government does not want to allow any such activities to create doubts in the minds of people about the integrity of the examination process.

What did the Hemant Soren government say?

Here, CM Hemant Soren said, if anyone tries to do anything wrong in these exams, he will be dealt with strictly. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated. If any system, institution or person is found involved in influencing the examination process, then strict punitive action will be taken under the strict law brought by the government.
