New Delhi: Congress has fielded candidates on a total of 89 seats in the Haryana assembly elections. Congress has given one seat to the Communist Party of India (Marxist). With the announcement of candidates on 89 seats in the 90-member Haryana assembly elections, the possibility of Congress’ alliance with Aam Aadmi Party and Samajwadi Party has ended. According to Congress’s organization general secretary KC Venugopal, the party has decided to give the Bhiwani assembly seat to the CPI(M). However, he did not make any mention of SP.
Talks did not work out between Congress and SP
Today was the last day of nomination for Haryana assembly elections. On the last day of nomination, Congress also fielded a candidate from Sohna. Earlier, there were speculations that Sohna assembly seat could go to Samajwadi Party. However, Congress declared Rohtash Khatana as its candidate from here on Thursday. This also ended the possibility of alliance between SP-Congress in Haryana.
Talks did not work out even with Aam Aadmi Party
Congress had held talks with Aam Aadmi Party on seat sharing for Haryana elections, in which there was a deadlock between the two parties. Some Congress leaders of Haryana had expressed objection to the alliance with the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. Kejriwal’s party has also announced 89 candidates. After the candidates of both the parties have been announced, the possibility of alliance is over for now.
Election will be held on October 5
Let us tell you that voting will be held in one phase on October 5 for 90 assembly seats in Haryana and the counting of votes will be done on October 8. In the state, JJP has an alliance with Chandrashekhar’s party, while INLD has an alliance with BSP. While Gopal Kanda’s party will also support INLD. BJP is contesting the elections alone, while Congress is contesting the elections in alliance with CPM.
