A diary was found with the accused who murdered Mahalakshmi and cut her body into 59 pieces, the whole truth came out

Bengaluru Fridge Murder Case: Muktiranjan Pratap Ray, accused of killing 29-year-old woman Mahalakshmi in Bengaluru, allegedly committed suicide in Odisha. After killing Mahalakshmi, her body was cut into 59 pieces and then kept in the fridge. After the incident came to light, the police started searching for the accused. Police said that the accused was found dead in the limits of Dhusuri police station in Bhadrak district of Odisha. Police have also found the diary of the accused, in which the truth has come out.

Why did Muktiranjan Pratap Ray kill Mahalakshmi?

Odisha Police says that 31-year-old Muktiranjan Pratap Ray was in a relationship with Mahalakshmi and Mahalakshmi was constantly pressuring him to marry her. Due to this, there were frequent arguments between the two, due to which Muktiranjan killed Mahalakshmi. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Shekhar H Tekkannavar said in Bengaluru that a man was found hanging from a tree on Wednesday morning. According to Odisha Police, an alleged suicide note recovered from the spot revealed that Muktiranjan Pratap Ray has confessed his crime.

Bengaluru police said the suspect and the woman, Mahalakshmi, met while working at a clothes shop and developed a relationship. As per initial investigation, Ray was short-tempered and after an argument, he killed Mahalakshmi and later chopped her body into pieces.

What has the accused written in his diary

Bhadrak SP Varun Guntupalli said the police have recovered a diary of Ray in which he has confessed to killing the Bengaluru woman and cutting her body into 59 pieces.

What happened after the murder?

After the murder, Ray reportedly called his younger brother and instructed him to vacate the rented house immediately. When asked the reason, Ray told his brother that he would tell in person but could not over the phone, a senior police officer said. On interrogation, the younger brother revealed that after committing the murder, Ray returned home and confessed to the crime, saying he could no longer stay in the city and was leaving for his native place.

How did the police trace the accused?

After the case came to light, the police took the help of technical analysis and call record details to trace the accused. His mobile location was initially found in West Bengal, but later he switched it off. However, with the help of technical surveillance, his location was found in a village in Odisha, where we sent our teams to nab him. He also changed his location in Odisha. Later, the accused was found hanging from a tree.
