A family from Malaysia arrived in India to visit Char Dham, but they did not know that such a big mishap would happen. Actually, a family from Malaysia arrived on Tuesday to visit Badrinath Dham. During this, a father and son were swept away in the Alaknanda river near Badrinath Dham. However, the rescue teams rescued the father safely, but the son was not found. The incident took place at Gandhi Ghat in Badrinath Dham.
On receiving the information, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team immediately reached the spot and launched a search operation in the river. Rescue teams rescued Suresh Chandra about 200 meters from the spot, but his son Dr Balraj Sethi (40) was swept away by the strong current of water. Efforts are being made to find Sethi.
Suresh Chandra has been admitted to the nearby Vivekanand Hospital. According to information, the father-son duo from Malaysia along with four other members of their family had arrived in India on September 14. Today they had arrived for a visit to Badrinath Dham.
2 pilgrims died in Yamunotri Dham
In another news, two pilgrims returning from Uttarakhand’s Yamunotri Dham died after their health deteriorated. A pilgrim fainted near the Jankichatti parking after visiting the Yamunotri temple at 11:40 am on Monday. He was immediately rushed to the Jankichatti hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The deceased has been identified as 61-year-old Kailash Chandra Asava, a resident of Angucha village in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan.
In another incident, a pilgrim’s health deteriorated at Janki Chatti late Sunday night, after which he was taken to the hospital where the doctor declared him dead. The deceased pilgrim was identified as 64-year-old Srinivas Kuchimotla of Andhra Pradesh. This year, 198 pilgrims who came for Chardham Yatra have died due to ill health, out of which the maximum 92 deaths have occurred in Kedarnath. 36 deaths have occurred in Yamunotri due to ill health.
