AAP releases first list for Jammu Kashmir elections, announces candidates for 7 seats

Aam Aadmi Party has released the first list of its candidates for the Jammu Kashmir Assembly elections. Candidates have been announced for seven seats. Fayaz Ahmed Sofi from Pulwama and Muddasir Hassan from Rajpura will contest the elections on Aam Aadmi Party ticket.

Assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. Voting is to be held in three phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1. The counting of votes will be done on October 4.

All the parties have started making strategies for the election preparations. Aam Aadmi Party has released the first list of candidates. It has announced candidates on seven seats.

Fayaz Ahmad Sofi from Pulwama assembly seat, Mudasir Hassan from Rajpura, Devsar Sheikh Fida Hussain, Mohsin Shafqat Mir from Doru, Mehraj Din Malik from Doda, Yasir Shafi Matto from Doda West and Mudasir Azmat Mir from Banihal have been made the candidates.

BJP will trust new faces more

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may rely on new faces and repeat some old veterans in the three-phase assembly elections for the 90-member Jammu and Kashmir Assembly. Party sources said, “The names of the candidates are almost finalised and have been submitted to the high command for final approval. The party will rely more on new faces this time.”
