New Delhi. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered social activist Gautam Navlakha to be shifted from Navi Mumbai’s Taloja Jail to house arrest within 24 hours. The apex court had earlier rejected the plea of ​​the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to recall the order allowing Navlakha to be sent to home detention. Please tell that Gautam Navlakha is in jail in connection with the Elgar Parishad-Maoist link case.

The NIA had sought withdrawal of the Supreme Court’s November 10 order placing Navlakha under house arrest instead of jail, citing his links with Maoists and Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Supreme Court gave important instructions

However, a bench of Justice KM Joseph and Justice Hrishikesh Roy ordered that additional security measures will be taken where Gautam Navlakha will be kept under house arrest.
