After the death of Sitaram Yechury, the left leader broke his vow, reached Delhi on an Indigo flight after 2 years

After the death of Sitaram Yechury, a left leader has broken his vow in which he had decided to never travel by Indigo flight. About two years ago, former LDF convenor EP Jayarajan had taken this decision. But on hearing the news of Yechury’s death, he reached Delhi on Thursday night from Karipur airport by Indigo flight.

Jayarajan had decided not to travel on an IndiGo flight in July 2022 after he was banned for three weeks for his involvement in a scuffle on an aircraft. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was also on that flight.

The CPM leader said he booked an IndiGo ticket to reach Delhi early to pay tributes to late party general secretary Sitaram Yechury. “Yechuri is bigger than everything. My reaching Delhi early is more important than the decision I took about the airline two years ago,” Jayarajan said.

Let us tell you that on June 13, 2022, two Youth Congress workers raised slogans against the Chief Minister inside an Indigo plane from Kannur after landing at Thiruvananthapuram airport. Jayarajan, who was on board the plane, allegedly pushed the two protesters aside.

Following this, the airline imposed a three-week ban on the CPI(M) leader and two Youth Congress workers who raised slogans against the CM on board the flight for two weeks. During this period, they cannot travel on IndiGo flights.

After the airline’s decision, he had said that neither he nor his family would ever travel by IndiGo. He will never travel by any IndiGo flight nationally or internationally. He had also said that he would prefer to walk to his destination rather than board an IndiGo flight ever in his life.

The Youth Congress workers had staged a protest over allegations against the Chief Minister in the gold smuggling case. Two protestors and another Youth Congress member were booked by Kerala Police for attempt to murder in connection with the incident.
