After the historic victory over Pakistan, money rained on the Bangladeshi team, the government announced a reward of crores

The interim government of Bangladesh has awarded its team a prize of 3.2 crore Bangladesh Taka, which is approximately Rs 2.25 crore in Indian rupees, for winning the historic Test series against Pakistan earlier this month. Bangladesh entered Pakistan’s home and whitewashed them 2-0. Youth and Sports Ministry Advisor Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan gave this award to the men’s team captained by Nazmul Shanto. Bangladesh Cricket Board President Farooq Ahmed accepted this award on behalf of the team. A part of the prize will be donated to help the flood victims.

Bangladesh Cricket Board shared the information about this reward on its official X account and wrote, “The Bangladesh cricket team has been awarded 3.20 crore BDT for the historic Test series win against Pakistan. BCB President Farooq Ahmed accepted the bonus from Youth and Sports Ministry Advisor Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan. A part of it will be donated to help the flood victims.”

This was a shameful defeat for Pakistan at home. The team has not won any match at home since 2021. Pakistan won its last match at home against South Africa on 4 February 2021, after which the team has played 10 Tests in which 4 were drawn and they faced defeat in 6.

After defeating Pakistan, Bangladesh will play a two-Test match series against India from 19 September. The team will be looking to upset India like it did against Pakistan. However, this task will not be easy for Bangladesh because Team India has not lost a series at home since 2013.

The first test between India and Bangladesh is to be played in Chennai and the second test in Kanpur.
