Alwar: This service started in the Corona era, stopped, now every person will get 5 KG wheat instead of 10

Alwar, In order to give relief to the poor during the Corona period, the central government had started a scheme to provide five kg of wheat per person under different schemes. The government has stopped one of these schemes. Now instead of 10 kg, each person will get five kg of wheat. This wheat will be given free of cost. People whose ration cards are made under food security. Only those people will get the benefit of this scheme.
On behalf of the Central Government, wheat was distributed at the rate of two rupees per kg to the people of Antyodaya, BPL, SBPL, APL categories under the Food Security Scheme. But now, under the food security scheme, Antyodaya, BPL, SBPL, selected APL families will be given five kilograms of free wheat per unit by the government till December. Wheat available at ration shops will be available free of cost. This will benefit about 24.50 lakh people in Alwar district of Rajasthan.

The government used to distribute five kilograms of wheat per unit in two schemes to the selected families in the food security scheme till December. In this, during Corona, it was announced by the Central Government to give five kilograms per unit of wheat to all types of selected families. Till December 2022, free wheat was also distributed to the selected families under this scheme. This scheme has been discontinued from January 2023.
Till now the selected consumers used to get 10 kg of wheat free of cost per unit of both the schemes. But now during the distribution of ration in the month of February, only five kilograms per unit will be given to the selected consumers free of cost. At present, no scheme is being run by the state government to provide wheat to the selected families free of cost or at a cheaper rate.
