Jammu. The pilgrims going on Amarnath Yatra are going to get more and more convenient facilities from next month. In this direction, a big step is being taken by the Jammu-Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC). Amarnath Yatris will be able to book tickets through mobile phones in J&K Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) buses. Not only this, the corporation has also decided to provide the facility of live tracking of these buses to the passengers. Now passengers will be able to easily find out from their mobile phones where the bus has reached and what is its live status.

According to the information, JKRTC is preparing to fully implement the first phase of Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) by the end of April. All types of information related to JKRTC will be available online. For this, ITMS will implement this facility in 5 phases. In the first phase, online ticket booking of buses will be started. Currently there are some technical problems in this facility. It is being claimed that all these problems will be solved soon.

All these problems mainly include bus passes, ticket refunds, etc., which are being claimed to be resolved by April so that the passengers can get better facilities during the Amarnath Yatra. With the effective implementation of ITMS, Amarnath Yatris will get convenience along with common Yatris.

Corporation officials say that there will be no need to stand in queues to get bus tickets. Will be able to book tickets through mobile app and website. After ITMS is fully implemented in the first phase, work will be done on fuel in the second phase, maintenance management in the third phase, inventory in the fourth phase and then installation management.

JKRTC General Manager Rakesh Sangral says that this will not only bring transparency in the functioning of the Road Transport Corporation, but also provide better facilities to the passengers traveling in buses. It has been decided in the meeting of the Board of Directors that the first phase of Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS) will be fully implemented by April. This will provide better facilities to the passengers.
