Tension still prevails in Udaipur, Rajasthan. After the death of Devraj, a student injured in a stabbing incident in school, his last rites were carried out in the city. Thousands of people gathered during this. Slogans like ‘Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega, Devraj Tera Naam Rahega’ were raised from the house to the cremation ground. Heavy security arrangements were made from the last rites to the last rites.
Seriously injured student Devraj died on Monday in MB Hospital in the incident that took place on Friday. The postmortem was conducted at night and the body was kept in the mortuary of the hospital. The body of the deceased student was handed over to the family at six in the morning on Tuesday. The body of the deceased student was brought from MB Hospital to his house in Kheradiwada of the city.
After this, the body was placed on the Moksha Rath and the funeral procession reached the cremation ground in Ashoknagar where the last rites were performed. During this, Inspector General of Police Ajay Pal Lamba, District Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goyal, District Collector Arvind Poswal, MLA Tarachand Jain, Phool Singh Meena, a large number of public representatives and top officials of the administration and police, including thousands of people, were present. A large number of police personnel were deployed during the funeral procession.
After the funeral, Devraj’s father told ANI, “My child has slipped out of my hands. I was dependent on him. My child is gone. Strict action should be taken against him. What happened to my son should not happen to anyone else. The murder has been done with complete planning.” At the same time, MP Dr. Manna Lal Rawat said that the police have taken full action so far, but if there is an eco system then it should also be investigated. This is not a normal incident. If there are any supporters of the murderers then action should be taken against them too.
After this incident, internet services remained closed in Udaipur city for the fifth day on Tuesday. On Friday, during lunch break, a student studying in class 10th attacked Devraj with a knife and seriously injured him. Due to the accused being a Muslim, communal tension arose in the city. The police took immediate action and arrested the accused student and his father. After this, on Saturday, the police administration and the municipal corporation demolished the house of the accused by running a bulldozer.
