An Idea Changed The Fate Of Gram Panchayat, Many Villages Of Wardha Desperate To Follow
Amita Shinde / Wardha: Manasavali Gram Panchayat of the district has started a unique experiment to collect tax. The Gram Panchayat has started a flour mill, from where the villagers can directly grind wheat or grains and that too absolutely free of cost. But the facility of free grinding will be available only to those people who have paid 100 percent tax. In fact, collecting the Panchayat tax in rural areas has become a difficult task. Tax recovery is not being done despite repeated notices.
There is Manasavali village on Ralegaon road in Hinganghat taluka of Wardha district. The population of this village is about 1200 people. The concept of ‘pay tax and get flour milling free for one year’ for Gram Panchayat is really attractive to everyone.
Gram Panchayat Manasavali established a flour mill on 1 April 2023 in the Gram Panchayat office itself. Citizens are also getting spontaneous response on this initiative. Wheat, jowar, bajri, pulses etc. are being ground free of cost by showing house tax receipt in the civil mill. The result of this initiative is that the tax collection rate of Gram Panchayat has also increased. This gram panchayat is being discussed in the entire district regarding tax.
Many people had not paid tax for the last seven-eight years. The Gram Panchayat administration realized that the major source of financial income of the Panchayat is tax collection and for this the employees reached door to door, but there was no response. Due to this initiative, bridges are being built to praise the Gram Panchayat administration. Other Gram Panchayats are also making up their mind to implement the new concept of tax payment by taking this as an example.
