Uddhav targets Eknath Shinde, this victory is the beginning of the fight
Were losing, so the opponents retreated after realizing the defeat
Mumbai. Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena candidate Rituja Latke has won the Andheri East seat in Mumbai by-election. On this victory, party president Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that the victory of Rituja Latte in the by-election to the Andheri (East) assembly seat shows that people are supporting Shiv Sena. With the support of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress, Latte, who contested the elections as the candidate of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) faction, emerged victorious. After the victory, Latte met Thackeray at his residence ‘Matoshree’.
Uddhav Thackeray told reporters, ‘This is just the beginning of a fight. The (party) symbol is important, but people also see the character. The bypoll results show that people support us. He said that Shiv Sena’s name and party’s election symbol (bow-arrow) were banned (by the Election Commission) before this election.
Uddhav targets Eknath Shinde
In a veiled attack on the faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Uddhav Thackeray said, “This victory is the beginning of a fight. I appeal to Shiv Sainiks to fight unitedly for all future battles. Our party’s name and symbol were banned for this election, but those who wanted it were nowhere in the electoral fray.
Sensing defeat, the rivals retreated
Taking a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which withdrew its candidate for the bypolls at the last minute, he said Shiv Sena’s rivals withdrew from the race sensing defeat.
