All-rounder Andre Russell took to social media on Wednesday to vent his anger over Trinbago Knight Riders’ exit from the Caribbean Premier League eliminator. Barbados Royals thrashed Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL Eliminator. However, there were many problems during the match due to floodlights and due to this the result of the match was also affected. Andre Russell has shared a video on Instagram, in which he has told about the difficulties faced due to flood lights.
Trinbago Knight Riders team was in a strong position at one time in the match. The team had scored 168 runs losing 3 wickets in 19.1 overs with five balls remaining in the innings. During this time Russell and Puran were batting. Russell hit a six on the first ball of the last over but after that a flood light tower went off and the match had to be stopped for a long time.
Due to this delay, the match officials resorted to DLS, according to which the Royals had to score 60 runs in five overs to win the match. However, Trinbago Knight Riders players were not happy with this decision.
Trinbago Knight Riders spinner Sunil Narine made a big success by dismissing Quinton de Kock but David Miller gave an easy victory to Barbados Royals by playing an inning of 50 runs in 17 balls. Miller hit 5 sixes and three fours in his innings.
