The terror of man-eating wolves continues in Uttar Pradesh. Forest department teams have been working hard to catch man-eating wolves in the state for a month, but the terror of wolves still persists among the people of the state. News of wolf attacks are coming in continuously. News of wolf attacks have also come in from Madhya Pradesh, which is adjacent to Uttar Pradesh. 10 people have died in UP due to wolf attacks, while five people were injured in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh. Apart from wolves, elephants and leopards also pose a threat to people.

In Chhattisgarh, five people have died in elephant attacks within a month. In Gujarat, leopards continue to be deadly. During the floods, crocodiles had also reached the roofs of houses, but their terror has ended as the floods subsided. However, elephants and leopards along with wolves are still giving sleepless nights to people.

A wild elephant trampled a 60-year-old man to death in Chhattisgarh’s Korba district on September 5. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Katghora Forest Division, Kumar Nishant, said the incident took place in Thadpakhan village of the forest area of ​​Pali sub-range on Wednesday night when Meva Ram Dhanuhar was at his home. He said that he went to his vegetable garden behind the house after sensing the presence of the elephant and saw the elephant. The forest officer said that the elephant caught Dhanuhar with its trunk and crushed him to death. He said that earlier on Wednesday, the same elephant had attacked and killed a bull in the nearby Mudabhata village. An immediate relief amount of Rs 25,000 was given to the family of the deceased, while the remaining compensation of Rs 5.75 lakh will be given after completing the formalities. According to the Forest Department, about 310 people have lost their lives in elephant attacks in the state in the last five years. Officials said that last month, three women were killed by elephants at two places in Korba district.

Child dies in leopard attack in Gujarat

A leopard attacked a two-year-old child in Gujarat’s Amreli district, killing him. A forest department official said the incident took place near Garamli village on Saturday evening. He said, “The victim Chirag was a resident of Dahod and his father was an agricultural laborer. The leopard attacked Chirag when he was playing.” According to the official, “The leopard started running away with Chirag. When Chirag’s father ran behind to save him, it threw the child down, leaving him seriously injured. The child was then taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.” He said the area where the incident took place is part of the Gir East Forest Division and cages have been installed to catch the leopard.
