Former Punjab MP Simranjit Singh Mann on Thursday stirred a controversy by making derogatory remarks against BJP MP and actress Kangana Ranaut. “Kangana Ranaut has a lot of experience in rape cases. You can ask her how it happens. People should be told how rape happens,” the former Sangrur MP said.

Farmers and political parties even protested at many places over this comment of Kangana. But now the radical leader of Punjab has created a new controversy.
Simranjit Mann made this controversial remark while addressing a press conference organised in Karnal to announce his plan to contest the Haryana elections. During this, he was asked about the recent remarks of BJP MP Kangana Ranaut. He also said that the government is targeting those who advocate independence. He said that Sikhs are not independent and they support their wish for a separate country. He said that they want a buffer state as it will prevent a war between India and Pakistan. He said that the Wagah border should be opened for trade. The former MP said, “Our people have been in jail for 30 years, which is a very long time and the central government should release them. The government has released many people before time. Why discrimination between Hindus and Sikhs?”
Earlier, Kangana Ranaut had posted a clip of her interview on ‘X’ in which she said that if the country’s leadership was not strong, a “Bangladesh-like situation” could have arisen in India too. She also claimed that during the farmers’ protest, “corpses were hanging and rape incidents were taking place.” She accused China and America of being involved in the “conspiracy”.
However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) distanced itself from the statement of its MP Kangana Ranaut, expressing disagreement with it. According to a press release issued by the BJP’s central media department, the party also instructed the Mandi MP not to make any such statement in future. The BJP said, “The statement given by MP Kangana Ranaut in the context of the farmers’ movement is not the opinion of the party. The BJP expresses disagreement with Kangana Ranaut’s statement. On behalf of the party, Kangana Ranaut is neither allowed nor authorized to make statements to speak on the party’s policy issues.”
