Astronauts reached NASA Space Center, big update on the upcoming mission with Sunita Williams

Sunita Williams News: Two NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have been stranded in space since June. Both will now return in February next year through SpaceX’s Crew-9. The spacecraft will launch into space on September 26 and then Sunita and Wilmore will return to Earth through it. The latest update regarding this mission is that astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov, who went with this Crew-9, have reached NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Hague and Gorbunov will now be quarantined in the Neil A. Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building at the Kennedy Center. Both will conduct a dry dress rehearsal of the mission there, preparing themselves according to their rest and wake times according to the requirements of the mission. Apart from this, both will practice flight-related procedures. SpaceX Crew-9 will be welcomed by NASA in a welcoming ceremony. Kennedy Space Center Deputy Director Calvin Manning and NASA’s Commercial Crew Program Deputy Program Manager Dana Hutcherson will be part of the ceremony.

Let us tell you that Hague and Gorbunov will fly to the International Space Station as commander and mission expert. It will be part of a flight of two crew members aboard the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon spacecraft. The launch of this Crew-9 has been scheduled for 26 September at 11.35 am Indian time. The dates of September 27 and 28 have been kept ready for backup. Hague and Gorbunov will be part of the Expedition 72 crew on the ISS.

However, earlier Crew-9 was being launched with four astronauts, but due to technical problems in Boeing Starliner, Sunita and Butch Wilmore remained in space. After this, NASA decided that only two astronauts instead of four will go in Crew-9, so that Sunita and Wilmore can be brought back to Earth. Let us tell you that in the first week of June, Sunita and Wilmore reached space through Boeing Starliner. This mission was going to be of a week, but due to problems in the spacecraft, it had to be brought back to Earth without astronauts.
