Bangladesh’s famous fan Tiger Robbie was assaulted, admitted to hospital; Police denial

The second match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh is being played at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur from Friday. India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Due to the attacks on minorities in Bangladesh, tight security arrangements have been made for the players of the cricket team. However, VHP created a ruckus on Friday morning by burning the flag of Bangladesh in protest against the match. During this, some people beat up Bangladesh fan Tiger Robbie and snatched the flag from him. During this, Robbie also got injured, after which the police admitted him to the hospital.

Bangladesh cricket fan Tiger Robbie was allegedly assaulted by some spectators at the Green Park Stadium on Friday, according to reports. He suffered an injury on his lower abdomen, after which he was taken to the hospital in the presence of the police. Tiger Robbie told Sportsstar, “He hit me on the back and on the lower stomach. I can’t breathe.”

However, the police present on the ground have denied the allegations of assault. A police source said, “One of our officers saw him having trouble breathing near the entry gate of C Block, it seems to be a case of dehydration. But we will wait for the doctors’ advice.”

Play on the opening day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh was ended early on Friday due to heavy rain. By the time the game was stopped, Bangladesh had scored 107 runs for three wickets. During this period, Bangladesh lost the wicket of captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto (31) after adding 33 runs in nine overs of play in the post-lunch session.
