Amravati: In another blow to Andhra Pradesh’s ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) ahead of the upcoming elections, Narasaraopet MP Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu on Tuesday resigned from the party as well as the membership of Parliament. He announced that he has resigned from the primary membership of the YSRCP and the membership of the Lok Sabha in view of the recent developments in the party.
Devarayalu was elected with a huge majority in the last election.
Devarayalu said that a situation of uncertainty has arisen in the YSRCP and clarified that he is not responsible for it. He also said that the party is considering fielding another leader as its candidate in the upcoming elections. Recalling that he was elected with a huge majority in the last election, he claimed that he tried his best for the development of the constituency.
3 MPs left the party in 15 days
Let us tell you that he is the third MP from the ruling party to announce his departure from the party in the last 15 days. He is likely to join Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Earlier, Kurnool MP Sanjeev Kumar and Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowri had left the party. Balashowri has announced to join the Jana Sena Party of Pawan Kalyan, who came from acting to politics.
That’s why the series of resignations started
YSRCP President and Chief Minister Y.S. A series of resignations have started in the ruling party after the changes made by Jagan Mohan Reddy changed the in-charges of even Parliament and Assembly constituencies. Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh are likely to be held simultaneously in April-May. YSRCP had secured 151 seats in the 175-member assembly in 2019 and 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats.
