Bengaluru: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale has said that ‘Rashtra Dharma’ is the duty of newspapers and today a correct discussion or narrative is being prepared in the country. He said that this narrative matches the real values, culture and history of India. He said that three-four generations remained away from the true thoughts of this soil, but now a discussion is taking place in the country which is contrary to the discussion that has been going on for a long time. Hosabale was addressing the concluding session of the Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the weekly Kannada newspaper ‘Vikram’ in Bengaluru on Friday.

‘3-4 generations stayed away from true thoughts’

The RSS leader said, ‘A discourse is being formed in India today, a correct discourse, which is contrary to the discourse that has been going on for a long time. For a long time, a distorted discourse was created in the country and the world about India, Hindus and its culture. ‘Confusion about the history and culture of this land has been created in textbooks, media, public discourse, international forums, think-tanks and cinema.’ He said that a discourse was created which was not in line with India and did not complement its ‘religion’, nationalism, social traditions and it was something which was divisive and spread hatred, which created confusion among the people and ‘3- 4 generations remained away from the true thoughts of this soil.

Sangh leaders also spoke on newspapers

Hosabale said that at that time there were people who tried to remind the original idea of this land and its culture. He said that those people were not accepted as mainstream thinkers and their ideas were dismissed as wrong. He said, ‘The real culture and history of this soil and the ideas to promote the well-being of the world and humanity need to be properly expressed according to the needs of today.’ Hosabale said that amidst the conflict of discourses, newspapers have the responsibility to bring forward the true views of India as per today’s needs and ‘Rashtra Dharma’ is the duty of newspapers.
