Birbhum massacre: Mastermind who killed TMC leader arrested, was absconding after the incident
Birbhum Murder Case: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday (November 2) arrested an absconding accused in the murder case of a local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader. The arrested accused has been identified as Palash Khan alias Faizul Khan. He was absconding after the murder. The court has sent the arrested accused on 8-day police remand.
In April 2022, on the orders of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI had registered a case in connection with the murders in a village in Birbhum district, in which 10 people died. The police had registered a case against 10 accused after the complaint in this case.

It was alleged that on March 21, the accused threw a bomb targeting Bhadu Sheikh and he fell on the ground. The complainant took his brother to Rampurhat Hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead. The CBI also gathered many evidences during the investigation of this case. During the investigation, it was found that there was a long-standing rivalry between the two groups in the area. One faction was led by the deceased Bhadu Sheikh and the other by the accused. Bhadu Sk was killed due to the ongoing enmity between the two groups.

In this case, a charge sheet was filed in the court against the accused and the other three in the month of June. The accused was evading his arrest since then and was absconding from the beginning of the case. The accused was seen throwing a bomb at Bhadu Sheikh and was identified. The arrested accused was produced in the court of ACJM, Rampurhat on Wednesday (November 2) and has been sent on 8-day police remand.
