BJP promises to double Ayushman cover, announces Rs 10 lakh if ​​won here

Bharatiya Janata Party has made another big promise in the Haryana Assembly elections. The party has promised the public that if it wins, it has announced to increase the amount of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). Recently, the Central Government has announced to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the elderly aged 70 years and above.

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Sunday promised that if the party comes back to power, it will be increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh.

Central government gave instructions to the states

The Union Health Ministry has asked all states and union territories to facilitate enrollment of all eligible senior citizens aged 70 years and above to avail the benefits of ‘Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance Scheme’.

In a letter sent to the states and union territories, Additional Secretary of the Union Health Ministry L.S. Changsan said a separate ‘module’ has been created on the respective mobile phone application and web portal for enrollment of senior citizens who wish to avail benefits under the scheme.

He said in a recent letter, ‘Interested senior citizens will have to apply on this portal or app. A separate Ayushman card will be issued to all eligible senior citizens aged 70 years and above.

Changsan said registration for all eligible senior citizens aged 70 years and above will be application-based only and that enrollment will be an ongoing process, with registration allowed throughout the year.

Targeted at Congress

Addressing an election rally in Rohtak, Haryana on Sunday, Nadda said that Congress means ‘misgovernance’, corruption and criminalization. Nadda appealed to the voters to feed ‘Kamal’ for the third time in Haryana. Pointing to Congress ruled Himachal Pradesh, he said that despite being in power there for two years, Congress has not fulfilled its election promises.
