Raid on Hemant Soren’s residence.
The sword of ED arrest is hanging over Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Meanwhile, the ED team had raided Hemant Soren’s residence in Delhi on Monday. There was news that Hemant is present in Delhi. However, Hemant was not at his residence. Since then, BJP leaders have been accusing Hemant Soren of absconding due to fear of ED. The ED team searched Hemant Soren’s residence for about 13 hours. During this period, ED has got hold of many things.
What was found at the residence?
The ED team reached Hemant Soren’s Delhi residence 5/1 Shanti Niketan at 7 am on Monday. After a whole day’s search, ED came out at night and took many documents into its possession. Apart from this, Hemant Soren’s BMW has also taken the car and driver along. Along with this, ED has informed that they have also recovered Rs 36 lakh cash from Hemant Soren’s residence.
CM Soren called a meeting
All MLAs of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led ruling alliance have been asked not to leave the state capital Ranchi and attend a meeting on Tuesday to discuss the current political situation in the state. This meeting has been called on Wednesday to discuss the strategy regarding the proposed interrogation of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. In an email sent to ED, Soren agreed to record his statement at his residence on January 31 at 1 pm.
BJP demanded President’s rule
On ED’s investigation against Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said that I request the Governor to send a report under Article 355 of the Constitution. He told that CM Soren’s brother and sister-in-law have talked to me. They are all sad that JMM was formed by Shibu Sen and Durga Sen, but the CM wants to give charge to his wife. No one is agreeing to this and he is trying to get charges for his wife like a fugitive. Dubey said that I think this is the best opportunity for President’s rule in Jharkhand.
