The matter is in the Supreme Court

The Sports Ministry had constituted a committee to probe the allegations. Now the Supreme Court is also monitoring this matter. After a lull, the protests have intensified since April. The protesters are demanding the immediate arrest of wrestler Brij Bhushan Singh, who claims that he is being framed on false charges.

A large number of opposition parties and civil society groups have supported the wrestlers since they resumed their protest in April against the inaction of the authorities at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. He was arrested on 28 May while marching towards the new Parliament House when the Parliament House was formally inaugurated. He has also been removed from Jantar Mantar.
