The campaign to demolish illegal constructions made on enemy property in Shahberi of Greater Noida has started. On Wednesday, the district administration demolished two offices and 48 shops built on Khasra number 187 with a bulldozer. Out of the total 10 bighas of land of this Khasra number, two and a half bighas have been freed from encroachment. During the operation, more than 300 jawans of local police, PAC and RRF took charge on the spot for security.

Dadri Tehsildar Omprakash Paswan said that the team reached Shahberi at 11 am to demolish illegal shops. However, due to lack of adequate police force, the process of action was started at 12.10, which lasted till 5 pm. The bulldozer roared continuously for about five hours. The shops that have been demolished were under construction. A notice was issued a week ago to vacate all the shops and buildings. All these shops are built on enemy property. Khasra number 187 has a total of ten bighas of land, 148 shops are built here. Out of these, 96 shops have been sealed in March 2023.

The current estimated value of this 10 bigha land is Rs 26 crore. On Wednesday, 50 shops including two offices built in 2.5 bigha were demolished. The value of 2.5 bigha land freed from encroachment is more than 8 crore. There are still 100 shops built on this Khasra number, these also have to be demolished. According to the administration, some shops have been built with RCC, which were difficult to demolish with JCB. Pokelin and drill machines are being arranged to demolish these constructed shops. The administration will start the demolition process again in two to three days. asserted ownership of property

During the proceedings, people claiming ownership of the property reached the spot. They opposed the administration’s action. The administration asked them for documents like court stay etc., but they could not produce them. After this, with the help of police, people were made to stand on one side. Peace prevailed at the spot during the proceedings. However, calling the action wrong, people cursed the administration fiercely.

Dadri’s sub-district magistrate Anuj Nehra said that enemy property in Shahberi was under illegal occupation for years. After receiving the order from the custodian, the campaign to demolish the shops was started. About 10 thousand square meters of land has to be freed from occupation here.
