Can Kejriwal go to CM office or not, what are the restrictions imposed by SC along with bail

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has got bail from the Supreme Court in the alleged liquor scam. He has been granted this bail on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh. The court of Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuinya has imposed several conditions while granting bail to Kejriwal. The Supreme Court has maintained the conditions given with interim bail in the ED case. Due to this, Kejriwal will not be able to work as the Chief Minister. He will not be allowed to sign any government file.

Justice Suryakant and Justice Ujjwal Bhuiyan have granted bail to Kejriwal on a bail bond of Rs 10 lakh and two sureties. The Supreme Court said that Kejriwal will not make any public comment on the merit of the case during bail. Justice Suryakant said that the applicant (Kejriwal) cannot make any public comment on the merit of the case. The conditions imposed by this court in the ED case will also apply in this. However, Justice Bhuiyan said that he does not agree with the condition of ban on going to the Secretariat. But due to the decision in the other case, he cannot comment more on this.

The Supreme Court had reserved its verdict after the completion of the hearing on September 5. Aam Aadmi Party chief Kejriwal had approached the apex court after the Delhi High Court rejected his petitions in the CBI case on August 05. Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21 and by the CBI on June 26, 2024.

The apex court had granted interim bail to Kejriwal on July 12 in the money laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged excise policy scam. Had the case not been filed by the CBI in June, he would have been released from jail. The apex court had earlier granted him interim bail during the Lok Sabha elections as well.
