Anti Corruption Bureau tightens screws, action continues
New Delhi. New Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Friday sent Aam Aadmi Party MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi’s brother-in-law Om Singh and his personal assistant Shiv Shankar Pandey to judicial custody for 12 days. These accused have been sent to jail in the alleged bribery case. It is alleged that he demanded money in exchange for the ticket in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections.
Significantly, the Anti-Corruption Bureau had recently arrested Prince Raghuvanshi along with Om Singh and Shiv Shankar Pandey. On 16 November, the court decided that Om Singh and Shiv Shankar Pandey should be sent on remand for two days and Raghuvanshi should be sent to jail for 14 days. According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, AAP MLA Akhilesh Pati Tripathi’s brother-in-law Om Singh, his personal assistant and Prince Raghuvanshi were caught when they were coming to return the money. Rs 90 lakh demanded
According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau, the three accused were demanding Rs 90 lakh from the AAP worker for giving them tickets in the MCD elections. On the date of hearing in the court, ACB said that MLA Akhilesh Tripathi and MLA Rajesh Gupta are involved in this case. He had demanded Rs 90 lakh from the party worker in exchange for the ticket and Rs 55 lakh was also given to him. But, despite that, the wife of the complainant was not given the election ticket.
