Caution- New team deployed in Delhi Metro; You may also have to get out of the coach, know the details

Delhi Metro started a special campaign on all its lines from yesterday i.e. 27th August. This campaign is to prevent men from illegally entering women’s coaches during working days. The squad of this special campaign includes 10 security personnel. These personnel will be from CISF, Delhi Metro Rail Police and DMRC. There can be a fine for not following the rules during the journey. However, a rule has been made to take the passengers off the metro in the middle of the journey and hand them over to the police if they break the rules, so that women can be kept safe.

This squad will keep an eye on men who enter the women’s coach illegally and misbehave throughout the day and will stop them from doing so. It will also ensure that women feel safe and comfortable while travelling. Men who do not follow the rules will have to pay a fine. The fine for this is Rs 250. If they refuse to pay the fine and continue to disobey the squad, they will be taken off the metro and handed over to the Delhi Metro Rail Police.

This special campaign was started yesterday on Tuesday. On the very first day, 108 male passengers were stopped from doing this and were taken out of the women’s coach. A fine was also imposed on 32 men. This fine has been imposed under the Delhi Metro Act. Let us tell you that Delhi Metro has run such campaigns earlier also to maintain the safety of women.

In case of any kind of bullying, mischief or misbehavior by male passengers with any woman in the women’s coach or anywhere else, a complaint can be lodged on 155370. According to DMRC, this number is available for service 24X7. Also, the first coach in the direction of the metro’s movement is reserved for women. Male passengers have been asked not to board it.
