Former Jharkhand CM Champai Soren is going to join BJP on 30 August. This was first announced by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. In such a situation, CM Himanta has now made a big claim. He alleged on Wednesday that the police of his own government was keeping an eye on Champai Soren for the last five months. Himanta said that people close to Champai Soren had caught two sub-inspectors (SIs) of the special branch of Jharkhand Police keeping an eye on him in a hotel in Delhi.
Champai Soren was chased till Delhi: CM Himanta
CM Himanta said, ‘A week ago Champai Soren ji went to Delhi. He spent three days in Delhi. Then again on 26th he went to Delhi. Both times he stayed at Taj Hotel in Delhi. But yesterday it was found out that both times he was being followed by the team of Special Branch of Jharkhand Police. They were taking photos of Champai Soren. They were caught. Champai Soren also lodged an FIR regarding this. When Delhi Police arrested two people, it was found that both were sub-inspectors of Jharkhand Police. Earlier they were saying that they were journalists. Both of them told that they were given the responsibility to track Champai Soren. They told that IG Prabhat Kumar had given this responsibility.’
There could also be a conspiracy of honey trap: CM Himanta
The Assam Chief Minister also expressed apprehension of Champai Soren’s phone being tapped and said that there could be a conspiracy to ‘honey trap’ him as a woman was also in contact with both the SIs. Referring to Champai Soren’s announcement of joining the BJP on August 30, CM Himanta said, ‘Champai Soren was being monitored even before talks with the BJP began.’

Former Chief Minister Champai Soren reacted to the media in Delhi on Tuesday for the first time after his decision to join the BJP. He said that in JMM only Guruji is senior to him, but his health is bad and he is unable to speak anything. Earlier he thought of taking retirement but after getting encouragement and demand from the people of the area, he decided to remain in active politics. He also thought of forming an organisation but as there was less time for the Assembly elections, he could not form one. The situation of the state was different. After thinking over it, he is joining the BJP with faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. He said that he does not think it appropriate to respond to all those who are criticizing him for leaving JMM. It is certain that he will join the BJP.
