Demand to change the name of Shahi Snan.

All India Akhada Parishad President Ravindra Puri has demanded to change the name of Shahi Snan that takes place in Kumbh. Ravindra Puri says that Shahi is an Urdu word, the Mughals gave this name and it is a symbol of slavery. He has said that now according to Sanatan Dharma, its name should not be Shahi Snan but Rajsi Snan. Ravindra Puri says that this issue will be raised in the meeting of Akhada Parishad. Let us tell you that there are 13 Akhadas in Akhada Parishad.

Maha Kumbh will be held in Prayagraj

Maha Kumbh is to be organized in January 2025 in Prayagraj, UP. In Maha Kumbh, there will be royal bath on Makar Sankranti on January 14, Mauni Amavasya on January 29 and Vasant Panchami on February 3. Royal bath is considered Amrit bath in which Acharya Mahamandaleshwar, Mahant and Naga Sadhu of Akharas take royal bath and this tradition is centuries old.

The word royal is a symbol of slavery- Ravindra Puri

Speaking to TOI, Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad president Ravindra Puri said that Shahi is an Urdu word. He said that Rajsi is a word from ‘Dev Vani’ which symbolizes rich Sanatani traditions. He said that the word Shahi is a symbol of slavery and was coined by the Mughals.

Use of new name from the upcoming Maha Kumbh- Ravindra Puri

Akhada Parishad President Ravindra Puri has said that the time has come that we should change the name of Shahi Snan. He informed that after talking to the representatives of 13 Akhadas, the name Rajsi will be finalized and it will be used from the upcoming Mahakumbh. He said that after changing the name of Shahi Snan to Rajsi Snan, the officials will be informed so that they can take appropriate action.

Demand was also raised in Ujjain

Let us tell you that recently in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, local scholars, saints and devotees had demanded the removal of the word ‘Shahi’ from the traditional ride of Lord Mahakal. After this, a video of CM Mohan Yadav was released in which he used the word ‘Rajsi Sawari’ instead of ‘Shahi Sawari’.
