Delhi Government Preparing For Chhath: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given permission today to organize Chhath Puja on the banks of Yamuna river. CM Arvind Kejriwal said that Chhath Puja will be celebrated on the ghats of Yamuna as before. Orders have been given to the officials that all arrangements should be made to ensure that Yamuna is not polluted.
Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot said that with the blessings of Chhath Mayya, this time we will ensure grand celebration of Chhath Puja at all 1100 ghats in Delhi. In fact, in this regard, a proposal was sent by the Revenue Department to the Chief Minister through the Revenue Minister for organizing Chhath Puja at various ghats on the banks of river Yamuna.
What instructions were given to NGT to clean Yamuna?
Now the Chief Minister has approved the proposal. After which instructions have been issued to all the District Magistrates that no polluting material is immersed in Yamuna river, for this additional measures should be taken. Instructions have also been given to take all measures including deployment of banners, posters, audio messages, CCTV at the site to ensure the guidelines issued by the NGT.
At how many places in Delhi will the festival of Chhath be celebrated?
In view of the possibility of pollution, the National Green Tribunal had earlier expressed concern about the construction of worship ghats near the Yamuna river and the material offered by devotees at such ghats. The festival of Chhath Puja is traditionally celebrated with great enthusiasm in Delhi.
For this, arrangements are made for the construction of ghats all over Delhi, cleanliness around the ghat and all necessary facilities. This year Delhi Government is organizing Chhath Puja at 1100 places all over Delhi. On this, Delhi Revenue Minister Kailash Gehlot said that the Delhi government is making arrangements for Chhath Puja at more than 1100 ghats this year. I had sent a proposal to CM Arvind Kejriwal that we can arrange Chhath Puja on the ghats of Yamuna.
How will the Delhi government deal with the foam of Yamuna?
CM has approved it. Following NGT norms, we are arranging Chhath Puja at Yamuna Ghats. All DMs have been ordered to make people aware about this. Kailash Gehlot said that the foam that occurs in Yamuna during Chhath Puja, the Delhi government is trying to ensure that this year does not happen.
