Chhattisgarh: Who will get scorched in the fire of reservation? Political ruckus increased due to High Court’s decision

In 2011, the Raman Singh government increased the reservation of tribals from 20 to 32.
Due to the decision of the High Court, the reservation of tribals was again reduced from 32 to 20 percent.
BJP considers Congress responsible for this, Congress asked to clarify its stand.

Raipur. Politics has heated up after the High Court’s decision on Tribal Reservation in Chhattisgarh. In this regard, the tribal leaders of BJP have decided to block the National Highway in Durg, Surguja and Bastar divisions in October. BJP is making a big strategy to surround the Congress for tribal reservation and on the other hand Congress has termed it as BJP’s drama and asked to clarify its stand.

Let us inform that the Bilaspur High Court has canceled the 58 percent reservation implemented by the Raman Singh government in the state. This matter is related to reservation in admission examination including government appointment in 2011. In this case, the High Court canceled the reservation, stating that the reservation of more than 50 percent is unconstitutional. After this, the status of category wise reservation in Chhattisgarh has completely changed.

In fact, in Chhattisgarh from the year 2012, ST was getting 20 percent, SC 16 and OBC 14 percent reservation. But, the Raman government increased the reservation of STs from 20 to 32 and reduced the reservation of SCs from 16 to 12. The matter reached the High Court and after hearing that lasted for about ten years, the court declared the decision of Raman Sarkar as unconstitutional.

The reservation of tribals has come down from 32 percent to 20 percent. That is why the tribal society is angry with this. At the same time, holding the state government responsible for this decision of the BJP court, has now announced a road fight. BJP has announced to block the National Highway of 3 divisions in Chhattisgarh.

The BJP has announced to block the wheel in three divisions of the state on October 8. At the same time, from October 13, Congress will gherao the houses of tribal MLAs and protest against the government through a rally after Diwali. Taking this announcement of BJP directly, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has asked a clear stand of BJP in the whole matter. Whereas senior BJP leader Sanjay Srivastava has again called the Congress government a fraud.

However, only after the court’s decision regarding reservation, the flames of reservation have started smoldering in Chhattisgarh; And it is slowly increasing. Senior political analyst R. Krishnadas believes that in this matter, the ruling party will have some difficulty in convincing the tribals because they understand more practical language than legal.

Let us tell you that in the coming year, the assembly elections are to be held in Chhattisgarh. In such a situation, how big this issue will become, only time will decide. But, the decision of the High Court has heated up the politics of Chhattisgarh for the time being because both the BJP and the Congress are looking at their vote in this issue.
