According to the Tamil Nadu Police, a 22-year-old man tried to rob a bank after being inspired by the Tamil film ‘Thunivu’. However, this young man could not succeed in his plan and the police arrested him. The film ‘Thunivu’ revolves around a criminal mastermind who, along with his team, executes a bank robbery.

According to the police, the accused Kaleel Rehman, a resident of Dindigul, had taken a loan from a branch of the Indian Overseas Bank and was looking for a way to repay the loan. According to police officials, to carry out the incident, he entered the bank and tied the hands of three bank employees with plastic tags.

This is how the incident was executed
Police sources said, on Tuesday morning a young man entered the bank with chilli powder, pepper spray, cutting blade and knife and sprinkled chilli powder on them. After this, he tied the hands of three bank employees with plastic tags and threatened them to show them where the cash was kept if they did not want to get injured. The source said that a tied-up employee alerted the branch manager entering the bank that the robber was in the bank. The manager took the accused into custody and pushed him into the room and locked him in the room until the police arrived.

Accused booked under Indian Penal Code sections 393 (attempt to commit dacoity), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in commission of dacoity), 397 (robbery or dacoity with intent to cause death or grievous hurt), and 506 (criminal intimidation) Has been recorded.

Police officials told that the accused will be taken to Judicial Magistrate I for remand.
