Climate change, Kovid and Ukraine war caused havoc in the world; PM Modi spoke at G20, read full speech

New Delhi: The annual G20 summit began in Bali, Indonesia, today ie Tuesday, the conference discussed the challenges posed by the Kovid-19 global pandemic and Russia’s attack on Ukraine. Referring to climate change, the Kovid-19 global pandemic and Ukraine, Prime Minister Modi praised Indonesia for its leadership of the G20 in the midst of a challenging environment at the global level and said that these developments have created havoc all over the world. So let’s know the full speech of PM Modi.

I heartily congratulate President Joko Widodo for providing effective leadership to the G20 in a difficult global environment. Climate Change, Kovid Pandemic, Events in Ukraine, and Global Problems related to it. All these together have created havoc in the world. Global Supply Chains have collapsed. There is a crisis of supply of essential goods in the whole world. The challenge is more serious for the poor citizens of every country. He was already struggling with everyday life. They do not have the financial capacity to face the double whammy. We should also not shy away from accepting that multilateral institutions like the UN have failed on these issues. And all of us have also failed to make suitable reforms in these. That’s why today the world has more expectations from G-20, the relevance of our group has increased further.

I have repeatedly said that we must find a way for a ceasefire and a return to the path of diplomacy in Ukraine. In the last century, the Second World War wreaked havoc in the world. After that the leaders of that time made a serious effort to follow the path of peace. Now it’s our turn. The onus lies on our shoulders to craft a new world order for the post-Covid era. The need of the hour is that we show concrete and collective resolve to ensure peace, harmony and security in the world. I am sure that next year when the G-20 will meet in the holy land of Buddha and Gandhi, we will all agree to give a strong message of peace to the world.
