Come to meet me alone, send nude pictures; what all allegations did the woman make against BJP MLA Hans Raj

BJP MLA from Himachal Pradesh’s Churah assembly and former assembly deputy speaker Hans Raj, who often remains in the headlines for his statements, has landed in trouble. The police in Chamba district have registered a case of sexual harassment against him. The MLA is accused of allegedly sending obscene messages and demanding nude pictures of a 20-year-old woman while chatting on WhatsApp. The police had registered an FIR on August 9 on the woman’s complaint. However, this case has come to light now.

what is the allegation

The complainant, the woman’s father, is a BJP official. He has alleged that MLA Hans Raj asked for nude pictures of his daughter during online chatting and also sent her obscene messages. According to the complaint, whenever the woman asked the MLA about any pending work, he would ask her to ‘meet him in person and then do whatever she wants’. The woman has also accused the MLA and his supporters of pressuring and threatening her to delete the chat with the Churha public representative.

statements were recorded

According to a TOI report, the complainant girl says that if anything happens to her or her family, the MLA and his supporters will be responsible for it ‘because these people can do anything to delete the chat.’ According to the complainant, she had two phones, one of which was broken by the MLA’s supporters to erase all evidence. Meanwhile, Chamba Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav said that the woman’s statement has been recorded in the case.

Under which sections the case was registered

Police have registered a case against Hans Raj, 41, at the women police station, Chamba, under sections 75 (sexual harassment by demanding sexual favours, showing pornography or making sexually coloured comments) and 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code. “Investigation is on in the case. The victim’s statement has been recorded, the accused will be asked to join the investigation as this is the procedure in such cases,” the SP said.
