Shimla: A huge upset has been seen in the Rajya Sabha elections of Himachal Pradesh. In this election, Harsh Mahajan of BJP has won and Abhishek Manu Singhvi of Congress has lost. Both the candidates got 34-34 votes. But BJP won the election through toss.
BJP’s Harsh Mahajan, who won, made a big claim and said that the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government in Himachal Pradesh will fall within a month. Leader of Opposition in the Assembly and former CM Jairam Thakur also said that in view of this victory of BJP, the CM of Himachal Pradesh should resign from his post. Within just one year the MLAs have abandoned him.

Congress candidate told the reason for defeat
On losing in Rajya Sabha elections, Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that 9 MLAs who did cross voting were with us till last night. Let us tell you that 6 Congress and 3 independent MLAs have done cross voting, due to which the figure came to 34-34.
