Congress is in turmoil after giving ticket to Vinesh Phogat, many leaders got angry; slogans were also raised against AICC

Haryana News Today: There is resentment in Haryana Congress after wrestler Vinesh Phogat got the ticket from Julana seat. It is reported that many ticket candidates distanced themselves from the program organized for Phogat. Also, a protest was held outside the office of AICC i.e. All India Congress Committee regarding ticket distribution. Phogat has recently joined Congress. Along with her, wrestler Bajrang Punia also joined the party.

Voting for the 90 assembly seats of Haryana will be held in a single phase on October 5 and counting of votes will take place on October 8.

what is the matter

A program was organized in Bakhta Kheda village in honor of Phogat. According to the Times of India report, many leaders who are contenders for the ticket from Julana seat did not attend the program. These leaders include Parminder Singh Dhull, Dharmendra Dhull and Rohit Dalal. These leaders are reportedly angry with Phogat being fielded from Julana seat.

Quoting sources, the newspaper wrote that local leaders feel that their work was ignored and outsiders were brought in. However, during this time some leaders who were ticket aspirants were a part of the program. It is being said that very few people attended Phogat’s program. After getting the Congress ticket, she had visited her in-laws’ house for the first time. She did a road show from Pauli village, which falls on the Rohtak-Delhi highway.

The highway passes through Bakhta Kheda village from Julana. Here Phogat married international level wrestler Somveer Rathi. Phogat thanked the Congress and especially Priyanka Gandhi for getting the ticket. She said, ‘When I was thinking of quitting wrestling, Priyanka ji told me not to lose hope. Her words inspired me. I may win or lose, but I will always serve you. My dream is to live in the village.’

There were demonstrations at AICC as well

Some Congress workers in Haryana protested outside the AICC headquarters on Sunday and demanded that local leaders be given preference over ‘outsiders’ in the party. The workers demonstrated to express their displeasure over giving tickets to relatives of leaders. Most of the protesters were from Bawani Khera in Haryana and held placards that read ‘Will not tolerate outsider candidates’.

Some candidates from Pataudi constituency alleged that in violation of party rules, the daughter and son-in-law of state unit chief Udaybhan were being given tickets. Congress on Friday released its first list of 32 candidates for the Haryana assembly elections in which former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has been nominated from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, Phogat from Julana and state unit chief Udaybhan from Hodal seat.
