An alleged video of a Congress worker removing the shoes from the feet of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was holding the tricolor in his hand, has surfaced. After this, BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra on Wednesday asked Siddaramaiah and the ruling party to apologize to the people for “insulting” the country and the national flag.
This incident happened when the Chief Minister had come to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary. In the video, when the party worker was removing the shoes of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, another person present at the spot was seen taking the flag from the hands of the party worker.
While sharing this alleged video on ‘X’, Vijayendra targeted the Chief Minister. He said, “India is today a leading nation in the world after being freed from the chains of slavery. Nationalism, national flag, patriots, all these have always been meaningless for the Congress.”
Vijayendra said, “Congressmen presented the national flag as a symbol of slavery on Gandhi Jayanti and the Chief Minister did not even raise any objection to it. This is an insult to the nation and the national flag. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress should immediately apologize to the countrymen.”
