Corona: 5747 new cases of virus infection in 24 hours, 29 people died

New Delhi. There have been 5,747 new cases of Kovid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours, after which the total number of infected people has increased to 4,45,28,524, while the number of patients under treatment has increased to 46,848. According to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Saturday morning, 29 people died due to infection in 24 hours, the death toll increased to 5,28,302. These include 13 cases registered from Kerala after confirmation of death due to infection.

The Health Ministry has said that the number of patients under treatment is 0.11 percent of the total infection, while the national recovery rate from Kovid-19 has increased to 98.71 percent. The number of patients under treatment has increased by 100 in a span of 24 hours. According to the Ministry of Health, the daily infection rate was recorded at 1.69 percent, while the weekly infection rate was 1.74 percent. At the same time, the number of people recovering from the infection has increased to 4,39,53,374, while the death rate has been recorded at 1.19 percent. According to the ministry, 216.41 crore doses of Kovid-19 vaccine have been given so far under the nationwide vaccination campaign.

Significantly, on 7 August 2020, the number of corona virus infected in the country had exceeded 20 lakh, on 23 August 2020, 30 lakh and on 5 September 2020, more than 40 lakh. The total infection cases crossed 50 lakh on 16 September 2020, 60 lakh on 28 September 2020, 70 lakh on 11 October 2020, 80 lakh on 29 October 2020 and 90 lakh on 20 November.

On December 19, 2020, these cases had exceeded one crore in the country. On the other hand, on May 4 last year, the number of infected had crossed two crore and on June 23, 2021, it had crossed three crore. On January 25 this year, the total cases of infection had crossed four crores.
