Corona vaccination prevented over 42 lakh deaths in India in 2021: Lancet study

New Delhi. The Kovid-19 vaccination campaign in India prevented more than 42 lakh deaths in 2021. The figure, released by The Lancet Infectious Disease magazine, is based on estimates of “excess” death rates in the country during the pandemic. According to a new article to be published in the Lancet journal on Friday, COVID-19 vaccination could help reduce the number of deaths caused by the pandemic worldwide by nearly a third, including India’s nearly 27. The population of lakhs to 53 lakhs is included.
