Pointing to the ‘flood of coaching centre advertisements’ in newspapers, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has given a special advice to the youth of the country. Dhankhar has expressed concern over the students’ ‘fascination’ towards civil services. He has appealed to the youth to look for attractive opportunities available in other fields. Dhankhar was addressing the ‘induction’ program of the first batch of joint postgraduate and LLM degree in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management at the National Law University in Delhi.
Big advertisements in newspapers
During this, he said, ‘Now I find a flood of coaching centre advertisements in newspapers. Page one, page two, page three. They are filled with the faces of boys and girls who have achieved success. The same face is being used by many institutes.’
Explore opportunities in other areas
Along with this, Dhankhar said, ‘Look at the flood of these advertisements. The cost and every single penny has come from those young boys and girls who are trying to secure a future for themselves.’ The Vice President asked the youth to look for opportunities in other fields as well.
Teach a lesson to selfish forces
He said, ‘The time has come, let us get out of the fascination of civil service jobs. We know that opportunities are limited. We have to look at the other side and find that the vast landscape of opportunities is far more attractive which enables you to contribute to the nation at a large scale.’ He appealed to the youth to teach a lesson and neutralise the forces that put selfishness above the interest of the country.
