Rift in INDI Alliance.

Last Tuesday, the fourth meeting of INDI Alliance was organized in the country’s capital Delhi. Since this meeting, bad signs are visible for the alliance. Initially the JDU MP had described this meeting as limited to tea and biscuits. At the same time, news is now coming that Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party wants to contest alone on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats of Punjab. After this news, the fear of rift in INDI Alliance has increased further.

AAP is ready for alliance in Delhi

PTI, quoting sources, has reported that the Aam Aadmi Party is keen on an alliance with the Congress on the Delhi Lok Sabha seats. If sources are to be believed, AAP is ready to leave three out of seven Lok Sabha seats in the capital for Congress. The opposition camp believes that instead of a triangular contest, Congress and AAP together can take on the BJP in Delhi. Let us tell you that in the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP had won all the 7 seats of Delhi.

When will the decision be taken on seat sharing?

According to PTI, in the fourth meeting of INDI Alliance held on Tuesday, leaders of 28 opposition parties have agreed to finalize the seat-sharing formula for the Lok Sabha elections by mid-January. However, Aam Aadmi Party’s desire to fight alone in Punjab could also create complications. Let us tell you that in the Punjab Assembly elections held in the year 2022, AAP had won 92 out of 117 seats. At the same time, Congress had managed to win only 18 seats.

Congress has also indicated to fight alone

Indications have also come from Congress regarding contesting elections alone in Punjab. Just a few days ago, Congress Punjab unit president Amarinder Singh Raja Wading had said that the party high command has asked the state unit to prepare to contest elections on all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in the state. He said that he has not received any indication from the party high command to contest the 2024 elections in alliance with any other party. (input language)
