Prime Minister Modi is arriving in Odisha to launch the biggest ever state-funded scheme for women. On the occasion of his birthday, PM Modi will launch the ‘Subhadra Yojana’. Before this, there is a gathering of women outside Anganwadi and Jan Seva Kendras in the state. To avail the benefits of this scheme, people are linking Aadhaar with mobile number. The situation is such that it has become difficult to control the crowd at many places and stampede-like situations have occurred.
What is Subhadra Yojana?
Last month, the state government had announced that 1 crore women between 21 and 60 years of age in the state will get the benefit of the scheme. Under this scheme, women will be given Rs 50,000 in five years. Women will get Rs 10,000 in two installments in a year which will be transferred through DBT to the bank account linked to Aadhaar. An installment of Rs 5000 will be released on the occasion of International Women’s Day and an installment of Rs 5000 will be released on the occasion of Rakshabandhan.
Big preparations have been made for the launch of this scheme in Bhubaneswar. Big preparations have been made for the launch of this scheme in Bhubaneswar. Officials say that 60 lakh people have already registered themselves before the scheme started. Subhadra portal has been launched for this. Apart from this, the state government has also promoted this scheme a lot. The government also organized Subhadra Padyatra to give information about this scheme. Mohan Manjhi’s government has set a target of spending 55825 crores in five years for this scheme.
The BJD government used to spend Rs 12,000 crore under the Kalia scheme. The Subhadra scheme is named after Shri Krishna’s sister Subhadra. Even before the elections, the BJP had promised to give women a benefit of Rs 50,000 crore. It is believed that Naveen Patnaik used to get a lot of support from women. However, this time the BJP won. BJD’s Pramila Malik criticized this scheme and said that the amount of Rs 10,000 is insufficient. She said that the BJP had promised to give Rs 50,000 crore to women in just two years. You tell me, can any business be started in Rs 5,000? The BJP has cheated the people and has adopted this tactic only to get their votes.
