What did the cyber criminals write in the message?

In this message, the fraudsters have written, ‘Hello, I am the CJI and we have an urgent meeting with the Collegium. I am stuck in Connaught Place. Can you send me Rs 500 for a cab. I will return the money when I reach the court.’ After this matter came to light, the Supreme Court has filed a complaint of cyber fraud on the instructions of the CJI.

The web of cyber fraud is huge!

Let us tell you that cases of cyber fraud have increased rapidly in India this year. The latest report of the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C) came out in May 2024, which said that hundreds of crores of rupees have been defrauded in the first 4 months of the year. Most of the fraud cases have been done in the name of online trading. It was told that more than 7 thousand cyber crime reports are being registered every day in India. People are complaining about cyber fraud on the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal.

According to the I4C report, 4.70 lakh cyber fraud complaints have been registered in the first 4 months of the year. At the same time, about 7 thousand cyber fraud complaints are being registered every day in May, which is 113.7 percent more than the complaints registered in 2021 and 60.9 percent more than the complaints lodged last year.

Most cases of cyber fraud have come to the fore in trading scams, in which people have been defrauded of Rs 1420 crore. In the first 4 months of 2024, 20,043 cases of trading scams have been registered. Cyber ​​fraudsters are robbing people by luring them to earn more money in the name of trading. At the same time, cases of online investment, gaming, sextortion, gift and banking fraud have also increased rapidly in India.
