Death sentence to Murtaza who attacked Gorakhnath temple, NIA special court gave its verdict

Gorakhpur. Ahmed Murtaza, convicted in the case of attacking the security personnel of Gorakhnath Temple, has been sentenced to death by the court. The court of NIA-ATS Special Judge Vivekanand Sharan Tripathi has sentenced him for several crimes including UAPA, sedition, attack on security personnel of Gorakhnath temple. Let us tell you that on April 3 last year, Ahmed Murtaza had attacked the security personnel of Gorakhnath temple. Within 9 months of the attack, the trial against him has been completed and the punishment has been announced.

Murtaza was convicted on January 28
On Saturday, a Lucknow court convicted Abbasi for attacking a PAC jawan at the Gorakhnath temple on January 28. Special judge of the ATS court Vivekananda Sharan Tripathi had said that the quantum of punishment would be announced on January 30. At the time of the incident, the testimony of PAC jawan Anil Kumar Paswan and his companion, who was posted on the security duty of Gorakhnath temple, and the doctor and woman constable who treated the injured were important.

According to an FIR lodged at the Gorakhnath police station on April 4, 2022, based on a complaint by Vinay Kumar Mishra, Ahmed Murtaza, a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), tried to forcefully enter the Gorakhnath temple complex on April 3 and The deployed security personnel were attacked with a sickle, due to which two PAC personnel were injured. The youth was arrested and sent to jail.

27 witnesses were presented in this whole case
After this, the next day after meeting Murtaza’s connection with terrorist activities, the matter reached ATS and intelligence agencies. He was sent to police custody remand for a week by the court. The government had handed over the investigation of the case to the ATS. When the ATS reached his house with Murtaza, a dongle and an airgun were found in the room. After this, sections in UAPA were increased on Murtaza. A total of 27 witnesses were produced in this entire case. After this the statement of the accused was recorded.
