New Delhi. The judicial custody of former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was extended till April 3 in the case of alleged irregularities and financial irregularities in the preparation and implementation of Delhi’s Excise Policy. But Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court will hear the bail plea of Manish Sisodia today i.e. on Tuesday. Sisodia was produced before the court on Monday as he is in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate till March 22.
According to a report published in NDTV, Special Judge MK Nagpal of Rouse Avenue Court on Monday extended Manish Sisodia’s judicial custody till April 3, 2023. At the same time, the petition regarding his bail is already listed for debate on March 21, 2023. On Monday, after the judicial custody of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader was extended for 14 days in the Delhi Excise Policy case, his difficulties had increased further.

Sisodia, in his bail plea to a trial court, said that no meaningful purpose would be served by keeping him in custody as all the seizures have already been made. Sisodia also said that he has joined the probe when called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Other accused arrested in this case have already got bail. Sisodia said that he has held the important constitutional post of Deputy CM of Delhi and has deep roots in the society.
Let us tell that in the case of alleged corruption in the Delhi Excise Policy, the Enforcement Directorate had arrested Sisodia in the past days in connection with money laundering. While sending Sisodia to CBI remand, the Rouse Avenue Court had directed that the interrogation of the accused during the remand period would be conducted at a place with CCTV coverage as per the guidelines laid down by the Supreme Court and the said footage would be preserved by the CBI. In this case, both the Central Investigation Agencies CBI and ED are investigating the matter by arresting them.
Earlier, the trial court observed that the accused had joined the investigation of the case on the first two occasions. But it has also been seen that he failed to give satisfactory answers to most of the interrogation questions. At the same time, the accused has not been able to present any concrete evidence in his defense regarding the allegedly objectionable evidence presented so far.
