Delivery of two children was done by stopping the train at Godhra railway station, RPF helped in this way
Western Railway: The RPF of Western Railway plays an important role in helping the passengers traveling in trains and especially in providing assistance to women and children in need of care and protection. In a unique case, on October 29, 2022, RPF personnel of Western Railway helped two women in giving birth to their babies in two different trains and did a commendable job.
According to a press note issued by Sumit Thakur, CPRO, Western Railway, the train escorting team from Nadiad, including ASI Sandeep Rape, HC Ravikiran Sharma, CT Jaynarayan Meena and CT Natwar Bhai, aboard the Mysore-Ajmer Express, received the information at around 5.20 am. . From a passenger Mohan Lal that his wife traveling with him was suddenly having labor pains. The said female passenger gave birth to a baby girl in a train moving between Vatva and Ahmedabad stations with the help of an elderly passenger in the same coach.
Train escorting party informed RPF
The train escorting party informed the security control room in Ahmedabad to alert the women RPF personnel and ambulance for further treatment at Ahmedabad station. After reaching the station, the mother and child were spotted by a railway doctor inside the coach and sent to the hospital along with her husband for further treatment. He further said, “In another case, a 29-year-old female passenger traveling from Mathura to Vadodara, Hazrat Nizamuddin-Thiruvananthapuram Central Express on October 29, suddenly experienced labor pains in a moving train.”

Though the train did not have any scheduled stoppage at Godhra station on receiving the information, it was stopped after informing the Operations Control and IPF Godhra. After reaching the station, the female passenger gave birth to a child and she was sent to Godhra Civil Hospital for further treatment. The press note said that the woman’s husband was informed, who later thanked the RPF for their help and care.
