Despite Sharad Pawar’s refusal, Congress is not giving up, now former CM increases tension in MVA

Leaders of other constituent parties of MVA have refrained from announcing the Chief Ministerial candidate before the elections to be held in November, despite this, Congress leaders are agreeing and continuously insisting that their party will win maximum seats. And its leader will hold the post of CM.

Congress leaders in Maharashtra’s opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) are putting the alliance’s constituents in trouble by staking claim to be the next Chief Minister from their party. This time, former Chief Minister of the state and senior Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan said on Monday that the Congress will repeat the success of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra in the upcoming assembly elections and the next Chief Minister of the state will be from his own party. The former CM expressed confidence that the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi will win more than 180 seats in the 288-member assembly and form the government.

The former chief minister said, “Congress has won maximum seats in Maharashtra in the recent Lok Sabha elections and will repeat its performance in the assembly elections also. The next Chief Minister of Maharashtra will be from the Congress party.” He made this statement at a party program in Satara in western Maharashtra, about 275 km from Mumbai.

Let us tell you that in the recent Lok Sabha elections, MVA, which also includes Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) and Shiv Sena (UBT), had won 30 out of 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra. Of these, Congress alone won 13 seats and was the only party to cross the double digit mark. The country’s oldest party had won only one seat in 2019.

On the other hand, leaders of other constituent parties of MVA have refrained from announcing the Chief Ministerial candidate before the elections to be held in November, despite this, Congress leaders are agreeing and are continuously insisting that the upcoming assembly elections His party will win maximum seats and its leader will hold the post of Chief Minister. Chavan also joined this series. “The strike rate of the Congress in Maharashtra in the Lok Sabha elections was very good. Based on the 65 per cent seats won by the MVA in the Lok Sabha elections, the alliance will win 183 or more seats in the assembly elections,” he asserted.

Not only this, former Union Minister Chavan said that Congress will regain its hold in Vidarbha region, where the ruling BJP has been a major political force for years. He said, “Congress is going to register victory in Vidarbha. The Dalits, Muslims and Maratha people of Marathwada region, demanding the benefits of reservation, have defeated (the candidates of Mahayuti or BJP-led NDA) in the Lok Sabha elections.”

Let us tell you that two weeks ago, senior Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat had also said that he was 100 percent confident that the next Chief Minister of the state would be from his party. Reacting to Thorat’s statement, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had then said that Congress should avoid playing the role of “big brother” in the opposition alliance. In early September, Sharad Pawar had said that there was no need to announce the CM face before the assembly elections. Pawar had said that the CM candidate would be decided on the basis of which party wins the most seats in the alliance, despite this the Congress is making unilateral claims. Earlier, Shiv Sena also wanted to announce CM face in the alliance but it could not happen.
