Despite the AAP government in Punjab, more stubble burnt in the fields, here are the figures

Farmers in Punjab have committed more stubble burning incidents this year than last year.
The smoke of stubble burning in the fields of Punjab increases pollution by coming through the air in Delhi-NCR.
The Aam Aadmi Party is in power in the state for the last 6 months. However, the stubble could not be controlled.

New Delhi. Before the formation of the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had promised to end the problem of stubble and to rid Delhiites of the trouble caused by its smoke. Not only this, the CM of Delhi has also held the previous governments in Punjab responsible many times for the increasing pollution in Delhi around Diwali. However, it is interesting that now despite the Aam Aadmi Party government in Punjab, the incidents of stubble burning in the fields have increased compared to last year.

Consortium for Research on Agroecosystem Monitoring and Modeling from Space, Indian Agriculture Research Institute If you look at the data released by R. Farmers in Punjab have carried out incidents of stubble burning in the fields this year more than 2021. While the figure of stubble burning from 15 September 2021 to 3 November 2021 was 20578, it has increased to 24146 in the same period in the year 2022. In such a situation, this year, about 4 thousand stubble burning incidents have increased as compared to last year.

Indian Meteorological Department scientist VK Soni tells in a conversation with News18 Hindi that undoubtedly in the year 2020, as compared to 43994 incidents of stubble burning, in 2022, the stubble has been burnt less, but this time the farmers set more fire in the fields as compared to 2021. Which in no way indicates improvement. The stubble smoke reaches Delhi through the air and increases pollution.

VK Soni says According to the data released by IARI, from September 15 to October, the incidence of stubble was less than last year, but this figure increased rapidly by November. On November 2, the maximum number of 3634 stubble incidents occurred. There were 2666 incidents on 3rd November also.

Recently 155 farmers were honored by the Punjab government
Point to be noted is that Recently, the Punjab government had honored the farmers who did not burn stubble in the fields in Punjab. 155 farmers were honored by the government who had not set fire to stubble in the fields for the last 5 years and they have been doing stubble disposal with the help of alternative means. Not only this, it was those farmers who inspire other farmers not to burn stubble.

Although the biggest question is that the Punjab government was claiming to reduce the incidence of stubble, but the IARI figures are saying something else.

CM Mann and Arvind Kejriwal accepted the responsibility
On Friday i.e. today, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have held themselves responsible for the incidents of stubble in Punjab. In joint talks, both of them said that there should be no blame for stubble burning in Punjab. This is a problem related to the whole of North India. Right now the government had only 6 months, but by next year we will tackle this problem.
