DK Shivakumar had made obscene CD- BJP leader Jarkiholi made serious allegations, demanded CBI inquiry

Belagavi (Karnataka): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ramesh Jarkiholi, who resigned from the Karnataka cabinet two years ago due to an alleged sex scandal, on Monday alleged that Congress state president DK Shivakumar was behind the conspiracy to defame him. He demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter to find out the ‘gang’ responsible for it.

Jarkiholi was counted as a powerful minister. In the year 2021, he had the Water Resources Department when he resigned due to the allegations of sex scandal. Due to the allegations leveled against Jarkiholi before the West Bengal assembly elections, the state government also had to face an uncomfortable situation.

A woman who was at the center of the entire controversy had alleged that the minister exploited her in the name of getting a government job. However, Jarkiholi denied these allegations.

BJP MLA from Gokak Jarkiholi said on Monday that the woman and her two associates from Mandya district should be arrested to bring out the truth of the matter. In a press conference called in a private hotel, Jarkiholi said, ‘I demand that the state government hand over the investigation of this matter to the CBI. The girl should be arrested along with her accomplices including two people from Mandya district whose names I will disclose before the CBI.

The former minister alleged that Congress leader Shivakumar tried to ruin his personal life. He said, ‘D.K. Shivkumar is not fit to be called a leader. No one should ruin anyone’s personal life. I have never made personal attacks. The BJP leader claimed that he has evidence which proves that Shivkumar is behind the entire episode.

According to Jarkiholi, there are obscene videos of several state leaders and top bureaucrats, including Congress leaders, which are being used for blackmailing. He said, ‘This is a serious issue because many leaders and top officials, including Congress leaders, are being honey-trapped and blackmailed. I will appeal to the state government to hand over the matter to the CBI.

Shivakumar could not be reached to respond to Jarkiholi’s allegations. There has been no reaction from the Congress side on the allegations of the BJP MLA. Jarkiholi made an oblique reference to Congress MLA Lakshmi Hebbalkar, alleging that she was also a part of the conspiracy. Jarkiholi’s statement has been condemned by Hebbalkar’s brother Channaraj Hattiholi. Congress leader Hattiholi said in the press conference that there is no clarity in the press conference organized by Jarkiheli.

It is easy to make allegations. Instead of making allegations and lying, if you (Jarkiholi) had made the documents and evidence public, we could have replied. He wondered why the BJP government would not have handed over the investigation of the sex scandal case to the CBI and why the MLAs of Gokak were forced to make this demand after two years of silence.
